About the Race

The Sun City Cycle4CANSA Festival presents South Africa’s largest weekend cycling festival

The Sun City Cycle4CANSA Road Classic offers distances of 103km, 70km and 10km and takes place on Saturday, 21 August 2021. The Bestmed Cycle4CANSA MTB Classic, which presents 10km, 25km and 50km route options, fills the Sunday slot (21 August 2021) over the weekend cycling festival.

Cycle4CANSA celebrated its 23rd year of presentation in 2020 and has to date raised almost R5 million for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA).

The event constitutes CANSA’s single largest fund-raising initiative and awareness drive in cycling annually. The CANSA initiatives supported by the event are detailed on the event website for reference.

Cycle4CANSA is more than a race. It’s a celebration of the human spirit and achievement.

Besides counting among the top five cycling events in South Africa as far as exposure values and participant numbers are concerned, more importantly it’s spreads a message of hope and awareness through CANSA.

It represents an annual pilgrimage for cancer survivors and celebrities who converge on Sun City to bring hope and inspiration to cancer sufferers and to create awareness around this debilitating disease.

The marketing drive around the event centres very strongly on establishing a platform for cancer survivors to share their stories and motivate individuals battling the disease.
